Lilac Festival & Parade

The Lilac Festival is a week-long celebration held annually in Spokane, Washington, starting on May 15th. It is a time when the city comes alive with vibrant colors, enticing aromas, and lively sounds, as people from all over the region gather to celebrate the beauty and fragrance of the lilac flower.

The festival offers a variety of events and activities that cater to a wide range of interests. The main event of the festival is the Lilac Festival Parade, which is a grand procession featuring over 200 entries, including marching bands, drill teams, equestrian units, and colorful floats adorned with lilacs. The parade is a sight to behold, attracting thousands of visitors who line the streets to catch a glimpse of the stunning procession.

But the parade is just one of many events that make up the Lilac Festival. The festival also features an art show, a car show, live entertainment, and food and drink vendors serving up tasty treats and refreshing beverages. Visitors can also enjoy a carnival, complete with thrilling rides and games, and a beer garden featuring local craft beers and ciders, as well as live music.

For those who want to get active, there's the Lilac Run, a 12k and 5k race that takes place the morning of the parade. And for the younger set, there's the Jr. Lilac Parade, a smaller parade that features children's groups and organizations, giving kids a chance to be part of the Lilac Festival fun.
